Then I let it process for about an hour and a half and I had a beautiful textured 3D model. ![]() I sued 50 taken just walking around the Cosmic Buddha and uploaded them to ReCap Photo. Using a minimum of 20 photos you can create a 3D textured model using Autodesk ReCap Photo. ![]() not that I am publishing the model, but because I wanted to see what the result would be. I took 50 photos of the Cosmic Buddha using only my phones camera and then using Autodesk ReCap Photo created a textured 3D model. You can even download the 3D models (print, OBJ, STL) as well as many other objects in the Smithsonian collection. The Smithsonian Digitizing Priority Office had captured it in 3D and even found details not visible to the naked eye and published it in the Autodesk X3D viewer developed with the Smithsonian Cosmic Buddha in X3D Viewer. I went to the amazing Freer Museum and it was filled with so much amazing and historical art, but one piece I have met only digitally in 3D and walked right into the room and recognized it as the Cosmic Buddha. While there I snuck to a few Smithsonian Museums because they are amazing, free, and have awesome air conditioning when it is 200 degrees Fahrenheit outside (felt like it with that hostile humidity heat index and 100 degrees. Last week I was attaining events in Washington DC to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. ![]()
